In celebration of 2019 as the International Year of the Periodic Table, the European Chemical Society commissioned myself, Sandy Russell and Scott D’Arcy (working as Offensive Magenta Games) to produce a video game, aimed at eleven year-olds, which would introduce the concepts of basic chemical elements and compounds. We were commissioned in July of 2018, and the game launched on January 21st, 2019, so it was a relatively short amount of time to produce the game. I acted as project manager on the project, liaising frequently with the other team members, and EuChemS, ensuring efficient incorporation of feedback, and streamlining of processes where possible. In addition to this I produced the score and audio design for the game, using FMOD middleware to create the audio logic, and scripting the integration in C# (the game was created in Unity). I was also tasked with designing the narrative and writing the dialogue for the game. It was an excellent opportunity to do some in-depth work with FMOD, and I now feel very confident in my abilities with the software, and am really pretty pleased with the work I produced for this project!
